Why is it always about “Communication”!?

Whether it’s a family relationship, parent/child relationship, a work or school relationship, a romantic relationship, a coaching relationship, or a spiritual relationship . . .

Consider this:

Communication is what relationships are built with:

  1. Effective communication builds a strong, durable relationship.
  2. Ineffective communication builds a weak, easily broken relationship.

A strong, durable relationship requires sharing (or providing clear messages, thoughts, opinions, feelings, and other information) from both parties:

  1. This usually leads to understanding each other,
  2. which usually leads to trust and confidence in each other,
  3. which usually leads to a deepening of the relationship.

When two people use honest, complete sharing:

  1. They can brainstorm and problem-solve their actual issues or conflicts,
  2. avoid a lot of confusion and misunderstandings,
  3. resolve baggage, such as cultural confusion, prejudices, defenses, etc.,
  4. resulting in a Win/Win, rather than a Win/Lose situation!

Please note that this applies whether the relationship is “good” or “bad”.

Our self-destructive, negative, co-dependent, abusive, or otherwise unhealthy relationships are built in the same manner; so, the existence of these points does not make the relationship a constructive, positive, or healthy one.

Oh, there’s much more to this topic, my friends!
